12/24/2022 0 Comments Ps2 rule of rose![]() ![]() What drives the player is the complexly layered but wonderfully compelling story. However, these aren’t really necessary as the game itself is quite simple and straightforward. There are some useless items that will lead you to bonus items such as sweets (which…give you health….?) or extra weapons if you send Brown to find them. There isn’t really a lot of incentive to explore the enormous airship or the orphanage. This brings us to some of the flaws that Rule of Rose absolutely revels in. You are often given a random item at the very beginning of each chapter which will, inevitably, lead you to whatever you are supposed to be looking for. This eliminates a lot of needless exploring and actually makes the game quite straightforward. He will take in their scent and then follow the trail to find a related object. Rescuing him early on in the game, you can present Brown with small, seemingly irrelevant, objects. Exploring a huge map, looking for tiny objects?! Where’s the fun in that? Well fear not, for you have a companion in the form of an adorable labrador named Brown. After which, they will reward you by torturing you in a manner that really merits the description of ‘horrific’.įor those familiar with survival horror, I can already hear the weary groans. This makes up the majority of the gameplay, exploring the very expansive airship, fighting off child demons and tracking down these gifts to present to the girls. Once there, you must appease the Aristocrat club by delivering gifts in each chapter. You pass out early on in the game before being buried alive, and wake up on this airship for reasons unknown. The majority of the game actually takes place on an airship, not the mansion (which we later find out to be an orphanage). And kids are china-doll-standing-at-the-top-of-the-stairs creepy They establish their own society and live by rules that are based on whims, and are therefore ever-changing. It has a strong Lord of the Flies vibe about it. ![]() What is particularly disturbing about Rule of Rose, what really gets under your skin while you’re playing it, is that the children are acting almost exactly as you would expect them to act if there were no adults around for an extended period of time. This is, admittedly, quite disturbing, and is just a sample of the tone of the entire game. She raises her skirt, smiling wider and wider as she lifts it higher and higher before it eventually cuts to another scene. In it, one of the girls, Diana, curtesies to Jennifer. The most sexually explicit scene seems to have been removed from the game, but can be found in the trailer. Having said that, the game only implies childhood sexuality, it is never said or shown explicitly (thankfully). It’s one thing to depict violence and sexuality in a game, but it is quite another to do so with little children. So, spoiler alert: This is a survival horror game. They invite her to join their society, but in doing so, Jennifer may end up losing her sanity or even her life… Once inside, she is accosted by a group of young girls, calling themselves the Red Crayon Aristocrat society. Along the way, she gets dropped off near an old mansion and is led there by a young boy. Set in England in the 1930’s, you play as Jennifer, a 19-year-old orphan (?) on her way to her new home. Bear in mind, games such as Grand Theft Auto and Resident Evil have some of the most violent and sexually explicit content you can find in games, so what makes this one so bad? In a word: Children Why is Rule of Rose so rare? Well, less one week after its release, it was banned in the UK. ![]()

12/24/2022 0 Comments Apple watch quick menu![]() ![]() We’ve found that when we’ve used Siri to dictate replies to texts, it isn’t quite sure when to stop listening to us and will start to transcribe somebody speaking close to you. But Siri on the Apple Watch is still young, and has a lot to learn – like when to stop listening to your dictation. It’s also an integral part of the messages app, being used to dictate your reply before converting it to text ready to send. The use of Siri on the Apple Watch makes laborious tasks like setting alarms much easier to accomplish, simply by telling Siri to set the alarm for you. But I’ve found that when padding round the house in socks or slippers (especially on carpet), it sometimes fails to pick up the steps, or struggles to pick it up for a while. Walking down to the kitchen and making a cup of tea ought to be enough. You need to move around a little in order for the watch to notice. Snap Kitchen isn't suitable for vegetarians or vegans since there are no plant-based offerings each week. Nutritional information for each meal was easy to find. The plastic packaging was mostly recyclable. If you crave those heavier foods but don't quite trust yourself with leftovers (who can blame you?), this might be a good meal delivery service to try. I prefer to eat bigger meals with healthier ingredients or fewer carbs. Most are under 500 total calories with many meal options under 400 cals. Since meals are on the small side, Snap Kitchen is good for portion control and general calorie cutting. The bacon added nice flavor, as you'd expect. The braised greens (collard, I believe) were good, if overcooked. The chicken meatballs with pesto pasta didn't blow me away but it one of the better meals I tried.Ĭajun salmon with braised greens and bacon: The salmon was fresh enough. The pesto was also good, but be prepared to taste the garlic. The pasta was slightly undercooked (a good thing!) so when I heated it up, it became a nice al dente. Pesto pasta with chicken sausage meatballs: The chicken meatballs were dry but still tasty. Unfortunately, it was far too small, with just a few spoonfuls of rice that didn't fill me up. Jerk chicken with mango salsa: This was another of my favorites, with tender chicken and tangy mango salsa. These sweet and spicy Korean meatballs with vegetables and rice was the best in the bunch. The accompanying broccoli still had some spring in it too. The meatballs were tender and tasty with a nice umami-rich barbecue sauce. Korean barbecue meatballs: This dish was my favorite of the bunch. The chicken itself was a bit dry and just OK. I chose six of Snap Kitchen's meals and tried them over the course of a few days. Most meals are between 350 and 450 calories. The portions also tend to run small so if you're looking to cut total calories without giving up red meat, pasta and potatoes, Snap has plenty of weekly picks. ![]() I wouldn't classify Snap Kitchen as a health-focused food delivery service but it has plenty of healthy options. ![]() I would recommend freezing anything you don't plan to eat within two or three days, especially anything containing seafood. While the meals arrive fresh and not frozen, most can be frozen if you're not planning to eat them in the first few days. The jerk chicken with mango salsa was super tasty but the portion was too small for this guy. There are virtually no plant-based options and few featuring seafood. Some meals are loaded with lean protein and healthy veggies while others would be best categorized as comfort food, with carbs a-plenty. There are also some basic recipes including herb-grilled chicken with a side of vegetables. Snap Meals are eclectic, with 35 weekly options spanning several cuisines - Japanese, Indian, Korean, French, Italian. You can subscribe to get six meals per week $76 ($12.67 per meal) or 12 meals a week for a grand total of $126 ($10.50 per meal). You can punch in your zip code here to find out if you're in the zone. Snap Kitchen delivers to most states but not all. ![]() But it is a subscription so they'll keep on coming if you don't pause or cancel. You can also skip any week's delivery of meals if you won't be around to eat them. You can select your meals each week or let Snap pick them for you. My six meals arrived fresh and neatly packaged ready to be eaten or frozen for later. There are one or two breakfast options sprinkled in but most of Snap's meals are geared toward lunch and dinner. Recipes range from hearty pasta dishes to lighter fare like grilled chicken breast and vegetables. Once you sign up for your meal plan - either six or 12 meals per week - you'll choose meals from a weekly menu of about 35 options. You won't be doing any chopping, dicing or cooking at all - just heating and eating. Snap Kitchen is a prepared meal subscription service that sends weekly boxes of ready-to-eat meals. Here's what I thought of Snap Kitchen in case you're thinking of trying the popular subscription service. But for someone seeking smaller portions or to cut total calories, Snap Kitchen may be the key to unlocking more time each week doing the stuff you love and less time seeking out sustenance. The portions were small, however, and, for the money, I think there are better options out there. Snap Kitchen lived up to its moniker with meals that are ready in a jiff, and most of them were pretty decent. ![]() 12/24/2022 0 Comments Weather in vienna next 7 days![]() ![]() The accuracy of forecasts from 12 to 36 hours - 85-95%. 12/24/2022 0 Comments Blackguards 2 dungeons 2![]() As the dubious protagonists conquer city after city, progress comes slowly if compassion is shown to captured enemies. Where most RPGs encourage the player to take the moral high road, either through incentives or by making you feel like some choices will make you a horrible human being, Blackguards 2 walks the line between good and evil. The main plot isn’t too surprising, but the ability to navigate the moral gray areas and branching choices is promising. Player choices shape the direction of the story as it is happening. The story unfolds through a storybook narrator. Magic is the most reliable offense, whereas melee and ranged combat rely heavily on an invisible dice roll.Ĭombat almost seems at odds with Blackguards 2’s storytelling apparatus. Tactical battles still make up the majority of game play. Yet, it is rarely clear until you are in the thick of battle what the objective is. ![]() In these cases, the player must make it to a specific, but unmarked, area of the map. It is often unclear whether it is better to even attempt to fight them or run. Instead of creating an open sense of creative battle, they often feel like there is only one way to use them successfully, and more often than not, executing the timing of pulling off an action in the environment just right is more trouble than it is worth. The environmental puzzles have a gimmicky feel to them. Just how the environment will react can be unpredictable and perilous, and with no save points during battle, the player can be forced to endure a beating before doing it all again. Striking an unsteady overhang or lighting flammable liquid can take out a group of enemies but can also take your team out. Interactive environmental pieces can be highlighted during the player turn. Hexagonal battle grids are stretched across varied landscapes that include bridges, prison courtyards, and dark caves, all with a lush but slightly muted color palette. Even with strategic planning, it is possible to end up with characters that are unable to successfully face up to the end game difficulty.īlackguards 2’s combat system emphasizes environmental interactions over head-on fighting. With some experimentation, weapon balance becomes more instinctual, but nonetheless a lot of trial and error is necessary.Īdditionally, the power to level your characters into any branch of combat leaves open the possibility to create underpowered or ineffective character builds that will hinder your progress. Weapons also need to be balanced for damage absorption and offensive power. Equipping items takes place in a drag and drop interface, but it somehow doesn’t work like expected. While menu screen juggling is not uncommon in the RPG milieu, in Blackguards 2 it can become overly cumbersome. You will spend a lot of time navigating through unintuitive menu screens. However, everything comes with a cost and with this freedom comes menu screens. This opens up a wide range of possibilities. So any character can learn to dual wield, to use a ranged weapon, or to become a melee expert. This is only after finding someone to teach you said skills of course. Instead, the player earns Adventure Points to spend on learning weapon talents, skill talents, special maneuvers, or crafting spells. Unlike most RPGs, characters do not level up in the conventional sense. While Daedalic took away the freedom of character creation, they did leave character customization wide open. Whether Cassia is viewed as rebel liberator or power mad dictator is up to the player’s choices. Cassia’s growing madness fuels the player’s incentive to exact vengeance at any means possible. In the prison labyrinth, the player learns the basics of the game’s turn-based combat and character customization. This tutorial level cleverly sets the stage for Blackguards 2’s morally ambiguous backdrop. She spends four years in its depths being poisoned by giant spiders, leading to her disfiguration and dementia. Instead of allowing for original character creation, Daedalic departs from typical rpg form to tell the story of Cassia of Tenos, a noble woman brutally imprisoned by her husband and her journey to revenge.Ĭassia’s tale begins abruptly as she is taken in her sleep and awakens in a dungeon below a gladiator arena. And the noble warrior Takate, with nothing left to live for, has resorted to gladiatorial feats until he meets his timely demise. His mage friend, Zurbaran, has been enslaved.
